*Web Job Description*
We are looking or an experienced Database Administrator to work in
Downtown San Francisco. This person designs, tests, implements, maintains,
and controls the organization's physical, relational, and object-oriented
databases across multiple platforms and computing environments. This role
participates in the development of data architectures and database
management policies and standards; provides in-depth consulting services in
the identification and resolution of database issues; and participates in
the planning, design, and usage of data resources. This person may develop
detailed data models and entity relationship diagrams.
*Required Skills*
4 year degree plus 5-7 years of experience. Teradata Database
Administration is a must. The applicant will be required to tune Teradata
SQL Queries which includes knowing and being able to use the explain
facility. Understanding and ability to tune Teradata performance using TASM.
Restore and backup Teradata structures using Netvault. Working knowledge of
ERWIN and an ability to read and understand logical data models and convert
those models to physical models. Work as a part of a team to implement and
tune Teradata physical objects designed by the project team. Good
communication skills to work with users to resolve problems and issues
regarding Teradata SQL and access to the Teradata database. Working
knowledge of Teradata tools and utilities including Fastload, Fastexport,
Multi-load, Teradata parallel transporter (TPT), Teradata Administrator,
Teradata Manager, and PMON. Unix background. Strong with Oracle and SQL
server.
