*Location : NY,* *Duration : 6months* *Global Technology* IT provides support to the firm’s platforms and infrastructure in all regions of the world on a 24/7 basis. Our ability to maintain stability in volatile markets and during heavy load conditions is critical to the smooth functioning of the firm’s activities. Proactive testing and root cause analysis continuously improves our technology platforms and reflects in the bottom line of the business. The global presence often necessitates extended work hours throughout the week and occasionally on weekends. In addition to primary functions, team members also take on a role of 2nd level engineering support in an event a production issue requires escalation. Team members never hesitate to take ownership of problems and remain responsible for their systems and actions in a shared environment of commitment and excellent service. *Main Function* This position entails providing Integration Middleware Engineering services at Barclays Capital with a focus on maintenance of TIBCO BusinessWorks infrastructure. This position requires an ability to analyze project requirements and to perform development, implementation and support on behalf of teams using the shared Tibco BusinessWorks farms. Additional responsibilities include technology and skills transfer within the team and throughout the development community and an ability to troubleshoot EAI and application integration related problems. Primary technologies that require *expert level* proficiency: - TIBCO BusinessWorks - Java - Shell scripting (Linux or UNIX) - TIBCO Administrator - TIBCO Hawk Technologies where proficiency is desired: - ActiveMatrix ServiceGrid - Web Services (SOA) - Messaging Middleware (Tibco EMS/RV, IBM Websphere MQ, Solace, etc.) 60% Engineering and 40% RTB Support (approx) Flexible – willing to provide coverage during weekends and or early/late shifts Well familiar with Linux, Windows and Solaris operating systems. Level of workable expertise with LDAP/AD implementations. Familiarity with Data Integration technologies. Hands on experience with relational databases, specifically Oracle and SQL Server, are a strong plus. Must be able to read and understand, write and optimize SQL code. *Main Duties* The Barclays Capital Middleware team consists of Communication and Integration Middleware disciplines in London, New York and Singapore regions. *This position *consists of working within the Integration Middleware Team, delivering expert services on the TIBCO ActiveMatrix shared farm. The role covers all aspects of the service delivery including: Middleware consultancy Develop proof-of-concept projects to demonstrate the product to internal customers, do performance tuning to ensure acceptable levels of application performance. Conduct reviews of TIBCO code and provide constructive feedback to development teams. Project requirements analysis Interpretation and understanding of functional specifications. Good understanding of BW palette functionality and standard functions. Ability to assist designers with integration of IBM Websphere MQ into technical designs. Unit/Systems Testing and Documentation Assist in preparation of unit tests for TIBCO AMX projects and services. Execution of unit test cases and documentation of results. Providing support during QA and UAT test phases. Vendor Management Work directly with the vendor in those instances where resolution to development issues or bugs can’t be reached internally.
