How does the zebra reindex works? I am importing and reverting files with
30k or more records, and I dont know if my zebra index is being rebuilded,
I run the script to do it manually, but shouldn´t the index be rebuilded
automatically? Do I have to configurate something on the server or

Hi Sergio,
if you use the staged marc tools in the GUI, the index should indeed be
updated automatically.
The first thing we need to know is how you installed Koha. Also: how are
you running the manual indexing?

with Debian Squeeze/ Koha 3.12.0,
1. Verified that zebrasrv is running: '$ps -ef | grep zebra'
2. /etc/koha/zebradb/gedit zebra-biblios.cfg points to
modulePath: /usr/lib/idzebra-2.0/modules
3. but, zebra modules are stored in /usr/local/lib/idzebra-2.0/modules

I tried to reindex the zebra server using following commands.
export KOHA_CONF=/path to .xml file
export PERL5LIB=/path to kohaclone
perl misc/migration_tools/rebuild_zebra.pl -b -r -v
and it starts reindexing but i got following errors:

properly until I tried to rebuild zebra after having around 19000 records and I
got the following error (a part of the error):

It's always a good idea to include details about Koha set-up such as
whether it is a package install or tarball install. Also are you on Ubuntu?

If you're seeing strange search results, in that they differ from what
the detail page says, then do a reindex.

I see a couple situations when you could need a reindex:
- An upgrade explicitly states the need for it
- Changes on the index definitions
- Changing from GRS-1 to DOM indexing
- Weird/unexpected search results
The latter means something is going wrong. In that situation, please report
back to us

In my instance(s), I have few enough records that I just run a full
re-index daily. There have been a few times along the way where
incremental indexing might manage to miss a record. Doing a full index
regularly during the overnight hours just makes sure everything is in there.

only aware of a situation that could trigger that on NORMARC (recently
fixed) using DOM indexing.
Otherwise, we've used 3.0, 3.8 and 3.12 without any similar behaviour.

Paul, could you confirm that you use Zebra in DOM mode? It seems Zebra isn't
configured properly, and so doesn't know where to pick up unique ID for biblio
records (biblionumber field). Without an ID to identify biblio records, Zebra
can't neither delete nor update a biblio record.
Check your Zebr
Paul's XSLT was using 001 for the id.
