I am still experiencing problems here - the column selection doesn't work, even
using the English templates often.

2) Go to 'item batch edit'
3) Verify that the column selection and deselection works as described

Deleting the cookies makes my Koha select the German templates and forces me to
log in again - might be just coincidence that it appears to work then (outdated
templates?).

It worked for me after deleting the cookies - but it broke again as soon as I
switched the language and retried. I think there is a bug there, maybe
depending on cookies or similar?
