i need to make down grade from 3.9 to 3.8.6 can i use the MySQL dump of data
base to replace it in 3.8.6 or there will be differences between tow version in
data base structure and what the important things i need to do or take care
about when i does this operationthanks

Our cataloguing frameworks (default, books) for tag 001 have under
Constraints / Other Options / Plugin a script [callnumber_rev3.pl, one line
changed from the Koha "standard" callnumber.pl] which includes this snippet:

i am just sending out an email to encourage Koha developers to switch to
MariaDB for their Koha dev/testing/QA work
why? its highly probable MariaDB will be the database Koha switches to when
MySQL explodes, (which might be quite soon, according to some)
so… lets prepare for that situ

it seems to me, these 2 pages are the first pages a beginner hits, when
attempting to install Ko
+1 from me - the packages are mature enough at this point and well
documented enough to encourage most users to use them instead of a
tarball install.
