Thank you all for your insight and honest opinions. After looking at the weight of the Subaru (and the cost) I will continue to use the original VW I started with. One of the biggest things I have read here on the net was "keep it light", I believe at 544 lbs. my KR doesn’t need any extra weight. A

The volume of fluid required to be moved is dependent on the facial area of the slave cylinder and the distance it must move to place the pad on the brake disk. It's got nothing to do with the diameter of the line. Also if you apply 10 pounds of weight to a plate that is 10 square inches in size y
