Owen,
I used a cut-in-four Corvette leaf spring for my tailwheel spring, it seems to
be well adapted for that use. However, I consider it is not thick and large
enough for a KR-2S main gear leg.
By the way, the Corvette leaf spring is fiberglass and not carbon fiber.

And it will stink up your house for days or weeks, so try to do this outside.
There are odour inhibitors specially formulated for styrenic resins (polyester
and vynilester), seems they work well although I have never tried them. I don't
remember the brand names but an online search shall give
"I am concerned with the strength of my homemade tailwheel bracket. That is the
reason for my question about 2 on board."
Ryan,
Have you already explored the FAR-23 requirements for a tailwheel landing
conditions? There you will find the basic rules for loadings on main and tail
wheels as a

Thanks guys for your comments and suggestions ! I will ask builders from my EAA
chapter about the experience with local authorities regarding the
anti-collision strobes.
After a search on electronic components resellers web sites, I am more or less
tempted to buy an extra-bright 12V white LED
I checked both Wicks and AS, as an exemple this one from Wicks website:

I presume all that are sold from these two sources are acceptable but...

KRNetters,
I am considering placing a single strobe flasher on top of the fin. I found
there are few LED flash strobes available from different sources, any of you
having experience with that? Are these LED strobes accepted by the FAA for
experimental aircrafts?
Thanks in advance,
Stefan
KRNetters,
Is there anybody in the lower 48 intending to install a foil antenna under some
fiberglass surface? I tried to order a kit from RST Engineering (priced $29)
but got rejected as non-US PayPal account... This kit is good for 6 antennas
and we may share it with a fellow builder, in

My airplane will be heavier than most of the KR's, max gross will be 1250-1300
lbs. I would like to put Tracy O'Brien's Premium 5" wheels with their C90
brakes but these wheels are limited to 1200 lbs. gross according to the
website. Is there anybody flying a heavier KR with these

Hi Joe,
I am interesetd in your Matco wheel. Any idea how much it will cost to ship to
Remsen, NY ?
I will visit next month Jon Coxwell to see his Corvair engine (you may probably
know him from the Corvaircraft maillist), so the tailwheel can be shipped to
his place.
Thank you,
Stefan
I found an interesting publications regarding easy reinforcement of wood boards
used in bolted joints:

This
method seems really easy to apply in the KR WAF's bolted joints - just

What I know regarding the dry vacuum pumps, is that they break every 500hrs or
so in my flying club C-152/C-172's, the extreme temperatures are probably
contributing a lot to shorten their operating life.
I will continue to explore the use of "no energy loss" vacuum but will also

Do you recall what engine and carb (automatic or manual mixture) was used ?

Hi,
Is there anybody on the list having experience with a vacuum for gyro/turn-bank
supply generated by the carburetor throttle? If yes, could you please share it.
FYI, I found this interesting reference:

Hi,
Many thanks to all hints on wood supply for my KR-inspired project !
It might probably be interesting to some of you, I started a blog reflecting
the preliminary works on my project:

Hi Wayne,
It is the shop where I got my first select grade DF sticks few days ago. The
wood seems really good but Wood Source are reluctant to mill it to acceptable
sections. The density of the DF varies a lot, from -10% to +40% from the
nominal... This is my Plan B source, buy a lot of long
I understand well now the situation with the aircraft wood suppliers. I may try
first to get decent Douglas Fir select lumber that I will test myself. If I
fail to get what I expect, I will order from Wicks or Aircraft Spruce Canada.
Thanks to all !

I am trying to find a supplier of aircraft wood nearest to my place. This seems
not to be easy
Other than Aircraft Spruce or Wicks, do you know another (prefferably Canadian)
supplier of aircraft grade Spruce or Douglas Fir? I tried to reach Western
Aircraft Supplies in Slocan, BC but could
Hi,
What is your experience or opinion regarding Todd's canopies, are they
optically good and are they suitable for KR-2S ?

Copy rights are time limited to seven (7) years, renewable for seven years. My
best estimate of a production date would be mid 1980's. If copy righted it
would say so in the introduction which it does not. And from all that I have
read about Rex Taylor, copy righting an instructional video
Posa and Posa type problems? I have a lengthy VHS of Rex Taylor and his son,
Rex Taylor being the manufacturer of Posa Carburetors, in an instructional

I'm looking for a flying KR within 500 miles of my area in order to get a close
look, and hopefully get a ride in.
I will consider owning a KR after I see a few.
I'm on vacation for the next 14 days, so weather permitting I could fly just
about anywhere to check
Hi,
I'm new to the list, and am looking for a flying KR within 500 miles of my
area. I'm very interested, but have only seen pictures.
I've contacted Rick Human in the Houston area, but his is down for a condition
inspection. Hopefully I'll get to see Rick's plane in the near future.
