I can't speak for everybody else, but I can tell you why I don't do what I 
think you probably  mean to say, which is "tuned headers".  I spent a really 
inordinate amount of time building a set of 321 stainless headers, put $400 
in material alone, and it took me almost forever to do it.  Stainless is 
tough stuff!  Mild steel would have been easier (and apparently lasts just 
about as long), but even so, all those bends and extra welds would have 
tripled the effort.  And....there's simply not enough room.  The simple 
straight exhaust I made is just absolutely all that will fit under my engine 
cowling, and anything more would have cost another couple of inches, not to 
mention a few more pounds,  megabucks more in material, and triple the time. 
And five percent more power only buys you a very few miles per hour for the 
effort.  Attention paid to aerodynamic details would likely pay far more 
dividends (not that I've taken advantage of those either!).

I hope y'all understand why I "slack" much of the time, and there's often a 
pretty good reason...
