One possibility is the the guy that rebuilt the engine forgot to oil that
seal's sealing surface where it interfaces w
As mentioned, seepage could be caused by many things ranging from a
poorly designed breather system to the bent crank you mentioned.
If it had a prop strike and was not torn down and checked I would be
concerned. As cheap as they are these days, it should have been
replaced.
