Phil Matheson replied: ?If you used a hole saw, why not just flox the small circle you had left over from the hole saw back on place, then all you will see is a small circle of flox. I did that with 5inch hole on the bottom of my fuel tank to fix a leak.?

Expanding on your great idea: maybe I'll make a metal template as a guide for my exacto knife,and proceed as you suggest. So, where there would have been a kerf from a saw filled with flox, there will now be just a fine line. This means a little more work for me on the front end, but a nice payoff on the back end.
