I use 3M Adhesive remover and I have not found a surface that it will damage
including painted and Acrylic.

WD40 wks as well. I had tape residue on my canopy and after testing a
small area it left no stains or damage. This is a trick I heard about
some time ago but I forget where I heard it.good luck.
