Also, now that I've install KDevelop, none of the icons show up. They all look
the same as a generic white box with a blue title bar. I would think the icons
would have an orange titlebar rather than a blue title bar, but it would be
nice to have better icons...

There is no java plugin inside the Firefox or Mozilla package. The java plugin
used by these 2 browsers can installed separately when installing j2re1.4
from the Ubuntu multiverse repository, and should be available without the need
to install either Firefox or Mozilla.

The big fonts are set in the system tab of the "configure kget" menu option.
Try removing ~/.kde/share/config/kgetrc and trying again, or changing it in
settings, configure kget, system tab.
On a clean install, this problem doesnt seem to exist, kubuntu dapper, kde 3.5.2

After all, it might not be a KTouch bug. I took Ktouch 1.4 from the kdeedu
source package for Ubuntu Breezy (kdeedu_3.4.3.orig.tar.gz), where this problem
doesn't show, and compiled it under Kubuntu 6.06 Dapper Drake with KDE 3.5.2,
and the problem is still there. So I guess the bug is in a KDE
