I was experiencing this hard lock of X upon logout as well. A solution
that I found to work for me, although I offer no guarantee that it will
work for you:

the workaround just involves having the session manager restart X.

always notice it when clicking in the left panel on All feeds -
somehow Akregator seems to have some trouble digesting its internal
article database.
this only happens when I'm at the first page

Excuse me; my info is not exact. The crash doesn't happen after a while
playing with KDE. I only can confirm that it crashes with various app
opened and when releases the button show desktop or maximizing an app.

The problem exists when installing Macromedia Flash in Kubuntu 6.06 LTS too.
I also had problems with sun-Java5-bin. It stopped 28% through the
installation. Clicking details gave a license agreement, but the OK button
could not be pressed by neither mouse nor keyboard.

kmail crashes very oftenly on SPARC (other KDE apps crash too, but not so often)
With the update, I can now logout with problem. But it is not possible

When accessing an audiocd via konqeror (audiocd:/) you have all kinds of
directories (MP3, FLAC, Ogg etc.). But WAV, i.e. raw pcm data from the CD, is
missing.
kaudiocreator on the other hand wants to read the tracks from the WAV directory
and fails.
This doesn't happen all the time, though,
I'm sorry, you should probably e-mail Jonathan about those packages.
Thanks for your comments!

resets to the router's ip (10.0.0.2) some seconds after the conection is
started, if I do a poff -a; pon dsl-provider it works again for some
seconds.
I should add that I'm currently using Kubunto Breezy and have no
problems,
Well, I'm glad the latest gdm update has fixed the problems of some
people, but it hasn't done anything for me. It's still a case of reboot
or shutdown = instant hang with black screen.
