I got the same error on Hardy Heron with all updates.
The problem is that the user is added to the sambashare-group, but this takes
first effect after log off/on..
So this should be tested and stated instead of the actual error message.

Oh, sorry. I'm using KDE 3.5.9 on Hardy. And there is the crash dialog.
All my friends using Kubuntu Hardy also say the same. If I try to run
kded the Konsole just says it's already running. So it seems it doesn't
completely crash then, but without restart the keys wont work.

Hi, sorry I'm a bit of a Linux noob, so I will try and give as much information
as possible, hopefully it will help.
I seemed to have a double problem.
The part where I can't seem to connect to the internet is fixed (partially)
apparently it is due to the network controller I'm using - Nvidia MC
Wicd fix was a bit too complicated (yeap Linux noob here) which requires quite
a few dependencies.
A bit difficult to do when I don't have a internet connection, and had to jump
in and out of windows to get files across.
Staying with Ubuntu for now.
