I renamed the .KDE directory and rebooted the computer. Instant cure. Further investigation reveals that my problem was corrupt data in the Directory .kde/share/config Can supply the corrupt data if needed. Will not use marble as I blame it for causing the crash. -- [jaunty] plasma crashes on
