When I try to install libqt4-ruby it pulls in a lot of KDE packages.
This is because libqt4-ruby1.8 depends on libsmokekde4-2. If this is
really a Qt binding and not a KDE one it should just depend on
libsmokeqt4-2 and not libsmokekde4-2. If it really does need it then

This version's not for my architecture..
Amarok uses update-notifier-kde to prompt for restricted codecs install.
Most non-Kubuntu desktop users won't have that installed and won't get
prompted, which is indeed a regression from previously.
Ideally Amarok would use packagekit to check for useful codecs and
install through that. This wou

I can't follow the argument that somehow this isn't supposed to be a
bug.
First I can't see what sense it would make to design things this way.
The auto-login doesn't get you around the encryption, so it's not a
security hazard to enable it (at least not in any way bigger a hazard
than on a non-en
if this is not a bug... is there some workaround? if there is only one
user on board and the whole system is encrypted there is no need for
this security step... thx in advance

I just realized what probably caused this bug, given its recent
occurance. Per a workaround in bug #345542, I changed "BusType" to
"PCI" in xorg.conf in order to get DRI working. It doesn't seem like
this should cause X to crash, though.
