Thanks for the bug report, m4v. This internationalization bug should be
reported upstream on bugs.kde.org
I'm confirming this bug in Ubuntu now.

Luckily for you guys, there was just a blog post written by an Amarok
developer about a fix for this issue [1]. Coming soon in Amarok 2.2 (or
SVN if you're running that) the database will be converted to utf8
internally. This should hopefully fix some of the issues being
experienced with

Thanks for the bug report!
There is an updated version of Amarok available in the kubuntu-backports
repository [1] that might fix this issue. Please update and report back
with what version of Amarok you're running (''apt-cache policy amarok'')
and whether you're still getting amarok hangs.

Thanks for the bug report!
It looks like there is a bug in multi-threading on 64 bit processors
with Amarok. Multi-threading because both crashes are in
pthread_cond_wait, and 64 bit because of the long pointer sizes
(0x7fb7cc00c742).
Luckily there is an updated version of Amarok already
Thanks for the bug report, getaceres. I found a corresponding bug on
the Amarok bug tracker, so I'm going to go ahead and confirm the bug
here in Ubuntu.
Please go to linked bug on bugs.kde.org and share your observations.
Thanks!

I also have this bug. It happens for example when I click on Next Latex
Error.
A workaround without restarting texmaker is to choose some of the latex
templates from the Latex Menu and insert them into your file. Then you
get your cursor back. Of course you have to delete the inserted code
I am so sorry, but I cannot try any more, because from the time when I
reported this bug to now, I have changed from distro and laptop
several times. Right now I have Debian/PPC in a PowerBook G4, with
amarok 2.1.1, and I have not problem with it.
Cheers and thanks for answer. Maybe we should

Andrew, please don't ask people to us a PPA when there is an official

You
Tim, your problem is due to the fact you use pulseaudio, which is
apparently a packaging error, as it should not be there in Kubuntu 9.04.
Remove Pulseaudio, make sure you use the phonon-xine-backend and have
the codecs installed and it will work. This will be solved differently

Andrew, I very much doubt this is a problem in KDE itself, more likely
to be a bad translation import in Kubuntu, so reporting translation
issues upstream is not really useful in this case AFAICT. This should
change in 9.10, hopefully.

@Harald Sitter:
Of course, you are right concerning the MP3 patents. But as far as I
know, libxine1-ffmpeg is not what installs MP3 support, but only a
plugin for xine to use ffmpeg (and therefore free software which is in
the main repo).
If libxine1-ffmpeg is not installed, Amarok is not able

For a few days I have been running updated KDE (4.2.96) and Qt (4.5.1)
packages from kubuntu and VLC PPA and this bug is fixed. Konsole
scrolling is now acceptably fast and remains fast even after a few days
of use.

I hope this is the right way to do this. I have never started a bug
report before.
I am running Kile 2.0.81 (although the splash screen says 2.1 beta) on
Jaunty, 64 bit. Help-About in Kile says it is using KDE 4.2.2, though

I went back through the list of KDE programs in Synaptic and installed

this again, and got a (hopefully) more useful output.

This usually means that the package was corrupted during download. You
could try removing the files in /var/cache/apt/archives (sudo rm
/var/cache/apt/archives/*.deb) and then try upgrading again.
