Right, you are supposed to set the desktop theme to "Customized" by
right-clicking the desktop, selecting the desktop preferences item, and
selecting the "Customized" theme from the list of available themes. It
might not be the easiest, but this is really something that should be
taken up with KDE.

No USB issue here (U100) - just flashing brightness.
I added (on Ubuntu) the "brightness applet" to my panel, and with it, I can
adjust the LCD brightness with no flashing at all.
Also, if you use the function keys and it starts that whole blinking thing, if
