Public bug reported:
Clicking to leave-shutdown or reboot in KDE menu results to logging me out but
doesn't reboot not shutdown the computer.
Then absolutely nothing happens when I click to reboot or shutdown on a KDE
login screen.
I need to switch to ctrl+alt+f1, login and perform shutdown -h
Public bug reported:
On a new install I don't get a taskbar(panel) or kde menu - I only see
one panel with just activitives on it - i.e only half a desktop...
This has occurred on multiple machines (all with Nvidia cards and dual
monitors)
I have to add the panel manually or I don't have a
Analysis of the problem:
apachelogger slangasek, ScottK: I think kubuntu-settings-desktop (providing
etc/default/grub.d/05_kubuntu.cfg) needs to pre-depend grub-pc ...
grub-pc.postinst looks for etc/default/grub OR etc/default/grub.d/* and if
found it will try to read the grub_default_cmdline
Public bug reported:
the systemsettings package contains at least the unrelated fonts and
color KCMs, this is wrong and terrible and meh.
in particular one cannot package a selective snapshot of systemsettings
(i.e. the actually app only) without either loosing the KCMs or having
to package
The proposed raring problem resolves the issue for me.

kubuntu-default-settings is built by the same source package as other
binary packages, such as kubuntu-settings-desktop (which is the
transition target). if the source package gets updated it means that all
binary packages receive the update. that includes transitional packages.
