iw list offers AP mode, and I've set up AP with hostap with the same
device a while ago. I've set up a wireless (shared) connection in the
plasma-nm settings but cannot find a way to fire up the AP-Mode wifi via
the applet. There's just no button for this connection.
Problem

i use 13.10 kubuntu on a Desktop machine. I added 4 languages to System
settings>Locale (in order: British English, American English, Portuguese,
French, Hungarian) and terminal applications and output language changed to
Portuguese, I cannot really set it back).

The way in comment #5 starts akonadi here too.
But whats the problem with akonadi?
I still have every 4 or 5 times starting kubuntu the problem.

I have AMD/ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5430. lshw says HD 5430/5450/5470. I
removed the proprietary fglrx driver and it seems to work again:
