The problem, according to the Ark maintainers, is that Kubuntu has changed the
library

Fresh install of Kubuntu 14.10.
After installation of ulatencyd, and reboot, performing GUI actions that
require raised privileges - fail to prompt for password.
This also happened after an upgrade from 14.04 which previously has ulatencyd
installed.
Areas that stopped
Ubuntu 8.04 (Hardy) is EOL.
