I experience this issue for a long time using gnome flashback. At least
since 14.04 if not even 12.04 or 10.04. It happens randomly and very
very rarely, but a little more frequently when I have an instance of
PhpStorm running (large java application).

When I invoke QApt Package Installer (usually the default for package
installations under Kubuntu 14.04), the status output all appears on one
line, which makes it unreadable. I expect that the problem has to do
with an error in the end-of-line logic for whatever is logging t
@Dennis: Hum, that setting does not change anything for me regarding
dupes. Even when activated, the dupes appear.
Confirming that the bug persists for me (newly created IMAP kmail
account, newly created filters) as of kmail 5.2.2, KDE SC 16.04.02, KF
5.23.0, on Debian/Sid.
