I have a Acer Aspire E5-511-C5QS with the same issue with BIOS, i try
solution from TOXIC (toxicpublic) in #185, but says invalid EFI file
path, also i can't try solution from Paul Sladen(#173) because i can't
boot Ubuntu, only Grub Shows and allow me to boot my Windows 10

I solve the issue making a
apt-get -f install
and redo
apt-get install skype
Becauses I tried to install skype on my ubuntu amd64 system and skype

For the people like me who have trouble finding how to switch to
lightdm:
sudo dpkg-reconfigure lightdm
but also remember to:
sudo systemctl enable lightdm.service
You also might have to install lightdm before either of these if you
didn't have it installed previously:
sudo apt ins
the empty session works! it brought the startup from 30-ish seconds down
to nothing!

I dont think this is an issue with the Nvidia drivers.

I have this problem too, even if I start compiz after kde starts, I always get
the adept-notifier icon sent off the tray.
I am on Kubuntu 7.10 64bits updated at today and using a Nvidia card with
privative drivers.

I tried this without beryl and I have the same error.
This is what I get when try to exec a command from "alt+f2" dialog:
kdesktop: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/libkdeinit_kdesktop.so:
undefined symbol:
_ZN4KRun3runERK8KServiceRKN4KURL4ListEP7QWidgetRK8QCStringb
And then, kdesktop dies.

On version 2.2 there is a similar problem. Now, the problem is the "Estado"
(State) tab. This tab is too big and, again, the window overflows the screen
(at 1024x768).
I report this on KDE bugs.
So, I reopen this report.
