@panfaust: the patch looks pretty reasonable. I'll give it a try in my
ppa, which builds all arches except powerpc and s390x.

In Wily, we have Python 3.5 as a supported (but not default) Python 3
version. We also have a PPA making Python 3.5 the default, which will
be the case in X-series. pykde4 fails to build from source in this PPA.
