[Bug 35140] Re: Hard Crash During pcmcia-cs Installation

2006-06-02 Thread Ben Collins
The problem is not one I can fix in dapper. This is is the result of pcmcia-cs from dapper being started on a breezy kernel (like what happens during the upgrade process). I firmly believe the bug and fix lies in the pcmcia-cs package itself. Only it can decide not to restart itself in this upgrad

[Bug 24533] Re: Fail to boot smp kernel

2006-05-13 Thread Ben Collins
We're going to need some sort of trace or crash message in order to debug this. I'm not sure how to can get X to start while staying in the console to see any kernel messages. Have you checked /var/log/kern.log to see if anything is captured there? Have you tried booting the SMP kernel with nosmp

[Bug 18691] Re: Computer gets hotter if no USB port is used.

2006-04-05 Thread Ben Collins
What sort of USB device are you talking about? I can only explain this as a hardware issue, not one that the kernel can control. -- Computer gets hotter if no USB port is used. https://launchpad.net/malone/bugs/18691 -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list kubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu

[Bug 26572] k3b locks up on searching for devices after running app 1st time on 2.6.12-10-686-smp

2006-01-21 Thread Ben Collins
Public bug report changed: https://launchpad.net/malone/bugs/26572 Comment: Please attach dmesg output. This very likely wont be fixed for Breezy, so if you could test Dapper (even just the liveCD, which doesn't require upgrading the kernel) to verify the bug there, I would appreciate it. Thanks
