Same here on i386. Downgrading to 1:0.2ubuntu1-0ubuntu1 also fixes the problem. Before that, if I entered "knetworkmanager" from command line, the answer was that it was not installed and suggested to do a "sudo apt-get install knetworkmanager". The answer to this it was that I already had the last (buggy) version.
