I'm using Amarok to play my music, and very nice it is too until it encounters
some m4a files. I bought these files through iTunes on my Mac, though I'm not
sure if that's relevant.
What happens is that initially the files play OK but after about 10 minutes or

Here is my output, I get exactly the same behaviour. I too have nvidia
hardware here, but I also get this problem on another machine with ATI
hardware, but I don't currently have access to that machine.

on the kubuntu web page, and this seems to have stopped Digikam from
working. Although it starts up and scans for images it will not display

I've installed Amarok and KDE 4.2.9 from the backports ppa, that's the
only way I could get it to work at all with my iPod. However it still
doesn't transfer album art. Amarok 1.4 us
So are you saying that Amarok in *buntu will never support cover art
properly? That sucks big rocks.

The tags have a different artist for every track but the album name is
the same. In the past, Amarok was clever enough to recognise this as a
compilation album and display it under 'Various Artists'. As far as I'm
concerned, this is correct behaviour (Amarok 1.4 did it perfectly every
time).

OK I sort-of fixed this. Once I got the server to start manually, I
deleted all the resources and then ran kres-migrator from the command
line. This imported my address book settings (twice - once as 'std.vcf'
and once as 'Default Address Book').
After a restart, the Akonadi server was now running

I think I have an idea what's causing this. In Dolphin there is an
option for 'Do not create previews for local files above :'. I had this
set to 25MB, so as to get previews of my Nikon RAW (NEF) files. I've now
set this to 8MB and am no longer noticing the behaviour I described
above. I do still s
