I upgraded from 18.04 to 20.04, then Gnome extensions didn't work and
asked me for an update in the task bar up the top. I clicked "Try to
upgrade" (or similar wording) and it crashed.

Maybe Ubuntu enabled the "TearFree" option in the Intel X driver?
That'd be just a crude work-around though, that option adds a driver-side
compositor (even if the desktop already uses a compositor), which means a lot
of additional copies.

Upgrade from 6.10 to 7.04; it won't always mount it's shares during
startup (i.e. it seems that e.g. when Filesystems require a fsck (the

Same here with gpilot & Sony Clie PEG SJ-33.
