I am sorry. I don't understand how to reproduce this. Disable sound in
terminal and it spawns new windows for your tabs with sound icon?

This is a per application setting and not an issue with plasma-desktop.
So whatever you are using to view twitter ( browser ? ) you have to dig
in the settings there or file a bug report with that application.

I have no way to reproduce this, does this still happen? It sounds like
