Hardy is now close to it's release, it will be the last Kubuntu to ship
KDE 3, and it won't be an LTS like Ubuntu. If this bug doesn't have a
trivial fix, then I think it is not worth spending time on this issue.
There are much more serious problems to care for. KDE 4 is working as
expected, that
The big difference that I am seeing between the 2 versions is that the KDE 3
version is using .menu files whereas the KDE 4 version is using .desktop files.
I am not 100% on how Gnome reacts with the .menu files, but still, we need to
look into this as KDE 3 isn't going anywhere any time soon.
I can confirm this issue, however the likelihood of it getting fixed is
slim-to-non with the KDE 3 System Settings as it would require a
substantial amount of code rewrite at this time. If there is a slim
chance on getting this fixed, I will look further into it after further
discussions on IRC.
I associate the bug with kde-systemsettings.
