Public bug reported: Dear maintainer, Today I tried to update Kubuntu 20.o4 and unexpectedly discovered that apt wants to install akonadi-server
-------- The following package was automatically installed and is no longer required: libkf5calendarcore5abi1 Use 'sudo apt autoremove' to remove it. The following packages will be REMOVED: libkf5akonadicore5abi1 The following NEW packages will be installed: akonadi-backend-mysql akonadi-server libkf5akonadi-data libkf5akonadicore5abi2 libkf5calendarcore5abi2 libreadline5 mariadb-client-core-10.3 mariadb-common mariadb-server-core-10.3 The following packages will be upgraded: digikam digikam-data digikam-private-libs libkf5akonadicontact-data libkf5akonadicontact5abi1 libkf5akonadicore-bin libkf5akonadiprivate5abi2 libkf5akonadiwidgets5abi1 libkf5contacteditor5 libkf5contacts-data libkf5contacts5 libkf5mime-data libkf5mime5abi2 --------- Initially I had minimal install of Kubuntu. Then installed "digikam" which also installed "digikam-private-libs". "digikam-private-libs" depends on "libkf5akonadicontact5abi1" which initially depended on "libkf5akonadicore5abi1" and now depends on "libkf5akonadicore5abi2". Unlike "libkf5akonadicore5abi1" , "libkf5akonadicore5abi2" depends on "akonadi-server". I believe it's an unfortunate change for most Digikam users. ** Affects: akonadi (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to akonadi in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1872890 Title: libkf5akonadicore5abi2 installs unwanted (for Digikam) akonadi-server To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/akonadi/+bug/1872890/+subscriptions -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list kubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs
