after the ppa install I was able to go to the kscreen and set it to
1920x1080
A more full error is:
No KScreen backend found. Please check your KScreen installation.

This was on an elderly man's entertainment computer for watching the
news etc. it caused
Technically we just ran the default KDE upgrade program from the system
tray. I did an apt update and upgrade as part of troubleshooting. it
took abnormally long to complete

I was running totally stock 22.04
it was ubuntu forums that has the commands to do the ppa
the kde load screen comes up in 1920x1080 and then it pops into 1024x768 (I
rebooted and the ppa is installed
