I have rebuild qt4-x11 from Jaunty sources (giving many *_4.4.3-1ubuntu3_i386.debs) with these 3 patches. I can confirm that the combination subpixel+hintslight works as expected: subpixel antialiasing in horizontal direction and hinting in vertical direction. If you tell me where to put a
