Dapper now contains 4.1.2-1ubuntu1, which fixes this bug.

This bug was caused by a broken build script in the upstream source, which has
been fixed for some time. Updating qt4 to 4.1.1-1, as stated above, or, better
yet, 4.1.2-1 would fix this fairly serious bug, as said above.
The bug also causes segfaulting on a semi-regular basis.

Happened to me on Dapper today after installing libqt4-debug followed by
the sound of me audibly crapping myself. Luckily removing the
libqt4-debug package fixes it so I can finish my work. Any chance of
making the 2 packages compatible?

For me this applies to *all* Qt programs (e.g., qtconfig), not just Qt
Designer.
