For amarok 1.3.9 in Dapper, you have to install libxine-extracodecs from
universe to play mp3 files/radio streams in general.

I quite often have problems getting streams to play, either having to
right click on stream in amarok and select play as applet play option
wouldn't do anything and other times having to select something else
then select the original again and play to get it to work

This is exactly the problem that I'm having as well. Amarok will work
fine on all other audio types but won't play streaming radio stations.
This feature worked fine before the switch to Dapper.
