I can confirm the statement above. Turn sidebar off and save Kubuntu
File Manager profile. Close Konqueror, and then start Konqueror up
again. No problem. Turn sidebar back on, and you will immediately get

I too am getting this message. Extremely annoying since it comes up
everytime I open konqueror from the System Menu. It would be fantastic
if we got a fix!

Confirmed also on my system. I think this is caused by Tonio's patch to
translate system:/home - /home/user which does not work nicely with
Konqueror sidebar

I am unable to reproduce this. Can you please provide more detailed
information about how you produce that error? Could you be logged in as
a user that has an issue with their home folder (i.e. permissions?).
