Hi Alex,
Wish u good luck for your operation.
Good to hear that this is possible and on AMD, as I have one AMD machine that
I can play around with. I will try it out when I get a chance.

Hi
Is it possible to install and use KVM in a guest VM ? I need this for testing
so, a reasonable performance is fine.
Anyone who has tried this ? Any known gotchas, workarounds ? Any particular
version of KVM required ?
Thanks

Hi
Can any one please shed light on when is KVM-70 or higher likely to become
part of *certified*/*supportable* RHEL/CentOS and SLES platforms ?
Or what version of KVM would the next release of these certified distros
would have ? when are these due for release ?
Thanks
/Jd
Note
/debian ?
- RHEL and CentOS seems to be at kvm-36. Is there a process to make higher
version of kvm "supported" on such distros? Would any one from RH and Novell
know/comment here?
Thanks

I am sure you realize that remembering the state is not complete solution. When
the management tool comes up, it needs to query the VMs and know its current
state and sync it with what it knows.

So back to my original question, how do I determine (via monitor/console) if

Hi
I do not see (halted) when I "stop" (pause) the vm. Tried on both KVM-70 and
kvm-73.
Is there a particular version it was introduced in?

Hi
Is there a way to detect if a particular machine is a VM running on KVM
hypervisor or not. i.e from within a guest can one figure out if it is running
on top of a hypervisor and not physical machine ? [For both Linux guests and
Windows guests ]

Are there pre-built kernels
needed/available somewhere ?
From recent posts it seems that direction is not to use PV for memory..
does this mean that now one can use any kernel and needs virt_io drivers ? Can
some one help explain the state and direction in this area.
Thanks
f ballooning details.
Any other checks ?

If it is currently not possible(which I doubt), is there a plan to add it ?
