Since balloting was extended in the KPFK local station board election until December 26, the local election supervisor, Soul Watson, has arranged to collect ballots in person at KPFK, 3729 Cahuenga Blvd. West in North Hollywood/Studio City (just south of Lankershim next to the 101; two blocks from the Metro Red Line Universal Studios station).
He will be there on Sunday, December 23 from 12:00 noon until 6:00 PM, and will bundle up the ballots and send them by USPS Express Mail overnight to NY for the tallying. It is preferable to bring your ballot sealed inside the original business reply envelope that was included with it when you received it, but any sealable envelope will do. Also, if you can serve as an observer to make sure all ballots are recorded and included, that would be positive. According to the National Election Supervisor, the ballots will be considered received by the deadline at the point that the LES gets them, so even if by some chance they do not get to NY in a timely manner, they will be considered towards achieving quorum and will be counted when they are received at the ESC post office box in Long Island, NY. We are hopeful that quorum can be achieved by Dec. 26, the second extension, and then new members can be seated at the KPFK Local Station Board meeting on Saturday, Dec. 29 at 1 PM at the Culver City Peace Center, 3916 S.
