Enclosed is information on the "un-millionaire" presidential contender, his running mate Christina López, and their platform against war, capitalism, bigotry and injustice. Support the Durham-López grassroots alternative to the twin parties of Big Business on June 5. Wherever possible in the state, we urge you to vote for Peace and Freedom Party candidates. For U.S. Senate, we endorse Marsha Feinland, a dedicated PFP leader and strong advocate for workingclass parties. To vote for Stephen Durham and other PFP candidates in the primary, you must register to vote Peace and Freedom Party by May 21. Go to your nearest U.S. Post Office or library or visit http://www.sos.ca.gov/elections/elections_vr.htm to print out and mail in a registration form. Ballot Measures California Proposition 28Leave your ballot blank This term limit initiative does nothing to fix the problems of limited ballot access for socialist and other third parties, independent candidates, and does not stop runaway election spending. Nor does it make it easier to recall elected officials. We recommend leaving this one blank because a "yes" vote implies that this will fix something and a "no" vote says the system is ok as it is. California Proposition 29Vote NO We oppose this tobacco sales tax initiative because its yet another regressive tax on the poor, it doesn't even guarantee that the money raised will go to cancer research, and it blames smokers instead of big business polluters for cancer. We say instead: nationalize the entire health industry under workers control, tax the wealthy and big tobacco, and shut down polluters.
