More Economic Justice: More Funds for Schools, Housing & Communities

A workshop for teachers, students, housing rights activists and others at the
L.A. Social Forum

“Fight the Budget Cuts” is the annual cry of all organizations this time of
year. California’s once first-rate school system is now ranked 47th in the
nation.

Meanwhile, wealthy corporations have been hoarding billions of dollars that our
schools and communities need. Find out about building a grassroots movement to
end the 30 year rip-off by reforming Proposition 13.

Speakers:
Roy Ulrich: public interest lawyer, consumer advocate, and public radio
broadcaster specializing in drafting legislation and initiatives on behalf of
public interest groups. Mr. Ulrich serves as President of the California Tax
Reform Association and as Vice Chair of the board of directors of California
Common Cause.

Greg Katz: Journalist whose L.A. City Beat article exposed the crisis of
Proposition 13

This workshop will be an informative presentation followed by a group brain
storming session to identify allies, resources, and tactics toward attaining
economic justice.
