Ron Gochez Social Justice Educator/Community Organizer Union del Barrio Centro Cultural Francisco Villa 2100 Maple Ave. Los Anegles, CA 90011 www.uniondelbarrio.org ============================== Press Conference/Protest LA Sheriff Lee Baca; END SECURE COMMUNITIES NOW!!! Thursday, September 22, 2011 · 5:00pm Southwestern Law School 3050 Wilshire Blvd Los Angeles, CA LA County Sheriff Lee Baca: "illegal immigrants basically are not subject to the kinds of civil rights protections Americans...." Sheriff Baca is one of the loudest supporters of Secure Communities and is being used nationally as one of the spokespersons for this disastrous Federal Policy that continues to be implemented by the Obama Administration. Baca will be part of a panel that will focus on Secure Communities. He will again argue that it's a necessary program and that Obama should continue the program. We invite you to come out to this action to let Baca know that we aren't going to put up with his anti-(im)migrant actions that continue to cause the deportation of thousands of our people! We will also publicly announce that on September 26th the "Coalition Against Secure Communities" will be protesting at President Obama's visit to the Fig & Olive Restaurant in West Hollywood. Our main demands will be: 1: END SECURE COMMUNITIES & ALL DEPORTATIONS NOW! 2. LEGALIZATION FOR ALL! 3. STOP THE WARS IN THE MIDDLE EAST AND STOP THE WAR ON WORKERS & (IM)MIGRANTS here in the US! Please feel free to bring your signs, banners, flags...etc to both of these actions!
