To Dee: have you tried yarn bobs? They are these cute little plastic thingies
that look like half of a bagel. The rounded side "flips" up to install the
ribbon, perle, floss, whatever on an inner spool, then snaps back down to cover
the strands & keep them clean. The flipped down flap holds
Yaspe (Jaspe) silk from Bart & Francis is in Addendum3 and Edition 4,
page 45.
I measured it as 20 w/cm, but it's a slub thread so difficult to get an
accurate measurement.

Thank you for the quick replies. The translations came out similar to what I
was thinking it meant. As I thought, the scarf can be made in 3 pieces which
eliminates having to have a pillow about 11 inches wide. It might be nice to
work it all together if I can rig up a roller pillow wide enough,
