I have attached to V2 of my little story a picture of a smugglers boat that
I found.
I will send it to those who have had the story so far if you request it.

I have dropped a note to a couple of possible makers. They will know what
they have made.
Thanks again.

The one with the red spangle (possibly a dragon) is believed to be a Mr.
Shaw Deceased. (With apologies if this is not correct!)
The two bobbins that include blue spirals seem to be attributable to Stephen
Pearce.
The Pinned spiral seems to have been made by John Ford and it is possible he

It would be really great if there could be a place online where pictures of
bobbins could be shown from this collection or that collection. I have to admit
that over the years I have tried to get picture of pillows with the bobbins on
them in different lacing classes. I think it if fun looking

I thought that too, but when I found my Acorn bobbins I realised that the
tail end of the bobbins Brian has shown doesn't have the trademark acorn.
I must get around to spangling my Acorn bobbins and put them into use -
Lorelei, now there's some really beautiful lace, was it a lace day? If so
where is it held. Wish we had weather nice enough to organise an outside
lace day but UK weather is so unreliable it would probably pour with rain on
the day.

I don't think any of these are Acorn's. All the ones I have, even the
travellers, have a very distinct acorn at the spangle end.

Acorn get their name from their bobbins having an acorn tail. 'Rosette'
could possibly be a Rick Sutton (Acorn).
I've suggested to Brian that the multi church window and the blue spiral are
by Stephen Pearce and the modern staircase is a John Ford.

You can tell it is bad weather here as I have spent all day on the computer!
I have written an essay on Ghosts and Smugglers in East Devon. It is not
long. Of course it has a lace connection and even (surprise-surprise,
something about East Devon bobbins; but you will have to read to the end
