Hello All! With counseling from Bev, I was finally able to finish a small
Rosaline motif, Lesson 2 in the Geelen book. Lots of wonky areas but I learned
a lot! Rather than a square tally, I made a small perle & suspended it in the
center with Russian/Herringbone stitch using #28 tapestry & #11 sharps needles.
It might be worth a try to make a larger perle to cover the entire opening
because it would be easier to sew thru, catching the edge of the inner ring.
Making the perle turned out to be quite an adventure because of the long length
of thread needed. There must be an easier way, but I don't know it...yet!
It's posted to Flickr, warts & all. My neighbor just got married so I plan to
use it to decorate a small candle jar, a token gift. More IOLI library books
have arrived so it's time to learn something new! Hope everyone is well &
making more lace. Sincerely, Susan Hottle USA
