I did an 'inexpert' wrap last year and I ended up with approximately 50
wraps That puts it in the realm of Egyptian cotton 80/2 or the no longer
available Madeira Tanne 80, which I think it replaces.
It is lovely to work with, has a great sheen, and comes in some great
colours.

close to the old DMC retours no 80. I think it is a little finer. it has
a lovely sheen and the thicker thread can act as a good gimp. I have
used the 28 thickness and it is a dream to use with a lovely sheen.

This is the first I have heard that Aurifil comes in 80. The finest I know
about is Aurifil 50.
