Dear Lacemakers,

This may not be of interest to people in some countries, because the products
for making it are not available and the hedgehog is not known. But here in
the U.S. there are lacemakers who are quite fond of hedgehogs - which look like
pincushions! I've met collectors of hedgehog items, and in the IOLI
bulletins there are often lace poems, illustrated by a hedgehog.

Last week, there was a cooking segment on the Tony Danza show, featuring a
little girl, aged 8, who won the grand prize ($25,000!) in the Pillsbury Kids
Bake It Fun! Contest, for her hedgehog cake. I had great difficulty getting
the
recipe from the show's site, but eventually found it (with help from friend
Lacefairy) complete with color picture, on a Pillsbury site.

It seems to me this would be appropriate for a summer lace day event or
meeting of lacers. Also, a cute project for a rainy day - to entertain a young
girl in your family.
