My fan pillow is being made from a polystyrene body board. I bought two of them at the end of last summer from a local supermarket who had them on sale for half price at GBP3.50 - too good a price to pass up. Because they're thick and dense, they should provide me with enough polystyrene to keep me in pillows until I depart this world!
Every year the supermarkets stock these, and every year they have to try and sell most of their stock at half price at the end of the season. They're really intended for children, but with power boats, windsurfers, jet skiers and luxury Sunseeker boats out on the water in the bay (and the odd automatic drive car going over the edge of the quay!), I don't think many parents would think it safe for their children to be out amongst them on a body board.
