Further on from Viviennes suggestion of hookie bobbins.
I have used some plastic bobbins I had to hand and put a eye screw [ used for
hanging net curtains] into the top of the bobbins because its a closed hook
the thread go through but won`t come out when working.

I have never made note of the information regarding 'hookies' before because I
