This is just to let concerned members of the list know that it is just
past 4:30 on Saturday, and Hurricane Irene has been pounding the coast
of Virginia for several hours now. As you have seen on the news, there
have been several deaths and lots of damage done since the hurricane hit
land early this morning in North Carolina.
However, I live about three hours west of the coast, and from where I
sit, there has been a slight amount of wind - nothing dramatic - and no
rain at all to speak of (I was hit by a drop while walking the dog...
just one drop!!).
I do hope that as the hurricane goes north, those inland like I am will
be spared the trauma and destruction as we have been spared. I'm very
concerned about our friends in the coastal areas, however, so keep them
in your prayers!
