To anyone who says that, or criticises a person who "only does torchon", I'd suggest they had a go at the UK Lace Guild Assessments. And I mean have a go, not just look at a log book. No mistakes allowed in intermediate or advanced - no not even one "Oh dear I forgot to twist the threads in that one place." Because it's so geometric, you can't hide mistakes and uneven tension sticks out like a sore thumb. So in some ways it's more difficult than other laces.

How many can say that they produce perfect lace each time? I know I dont - in fact I rarely do.
